Fans React to Quavo and Jack Harlow’s Open Run Victory Over 2 Chainz and Lil Baby

Quavo and Jack Harlow walked away with the win in Bleacher Report’s Open Run showdown.

The two-on-two basketball game, presented by Modelo Beer, pitted the Migos member and the “What’s Poppin” artist against 2 Chainz and Lil Baby, who suffered a 21-7 defeat Saturday night. Quavo was the undisputed star of the night, with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks, which isn’t too surprising considering he was named MVP of the 2018 Celebrity All-Star Game.

“Those are four good guys on one court – that’s gonna be fire,” Quavo told Billboard earlier this week. “We the best two that’s gon’ win. You know anyone with me is going to win. Let’s get it. I hope they bring their A-game.”

Harlow also expressed confidence after he was teamed up with Quavo, stating the rapper was his No. 1 choice.

“Well, I didn’t choose my teammate, but I got to say, I’m very happy with who I got,” he told Uproxx. “Out of the three other players, that would be my number one choice because he brings something to the game, based on everything I’ve seen on YouTube, that I don’t bring to the game. He’s a shooter, he seemed like a ball handler. I like his confidence on the court and I think I’m going to be complimenting him perfectly with my game and some of my grit. And I’m going to let him cut.

As winners of the game, Quavo and Harlow will receive a cash prize of $500,000. Bleacher Report has also pledged to donate an additional $500,000 to HBCUs of Quavo and Harlow’s choice. The former selected Simmons College of Kentucky and Kentucky State, while the latter played for Clark Atlanta University and Spellman College.

2 Chainz has dropped off his sixth studio album, So Help Me God!

Clocking in at approximately 50 minutes, the 15-track project includes guest features from the likes of Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz on “Feel A Way,” Lil Wayne on “Money Maker,” NBA YoungBoy on “Save Me” and Lil Uzi Vert and Chief Keef on “Free Lighter.”

“I like to describe So Help Me God! as a light during a dark time,” 2 Chainz told Apple Music. “It’s a time capsule of what we’ve been experiencing during this pandemic, during this year. But it’s the light side. It’s the other side of the pillow.”

So Help Me God! is supposedly the College Park, Georgia rapper’s final album with Def Jam Recordings. “I’ve been with Def Jam for a long time, that’s my home right there. There’s no bad blood there,” 2 Chainz told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in a January 2020 interview, continuing, “I love what they’re doing. I’m just coming into another layer, another section, of life, where it’s just about owning more. That’s all it is.” He did add that he “might stick around” depending on the negotiations, “But for now, I’m looking forward to possibly being independent by the end of the year and rocking that with my guys.”

Stream 2 Chainz’s So Help Me God! on Spotify and Apple Music.

In other music news, The Weeknd has been announced as the headliner of the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show.

2 Chainz announced for 4/20 virtual reality livestream with Tidal and Oculus

2 Chainz is the next artist to headline TIDAL x Oculus’ virtual reality concert series.

The rapper will take to the stage for a weed-friendly celebration on April 20, the annual day and time at which cannabis smokers are encouraged to light up worldwide. However, the set won’t happen at 4.20pm local time; 2 Chainz will instead kick off the show at 9pm ET (2am BST, April 21).

Fans can either watch via TIDAL or the Venues apps, which contains the Oculus Quest feature for viewers looking for the full virtual reality experience. 2 Chainz follows Snoop Dogg on the TIDAL concert series livestream, who performed under his DJ alias of DJ SNOOPADELIC in February.

In other news, 2 Chainz teased a new song on Monday (April 12) which appears to be called ‘Inner City Hoodlum’, and is produced by Mark Byrd.

“INNER CITY HOODLUM,” the rapper captioned a since-deleted post [via HipHopDX]. “Prod by @iammarkbyrd ITS FRESH off the grill !!!! ON my Soufside Skreet Shit with dis one !!!!This also my 2nd song of the nite , folks be thinking im funny which is cool, but truth of the matter is my wordplay be going over some of yal head.”

Last month, the rapper competed in charity basketball game with Lil Baby, Quavo and Jack Harlow. The winning team received a cash donation to their chosen Historically Black College or University

Lil Baby & 2 Chainz To Face Quavo & Jack Harlow in 2-on 2 Charity Basketball Game

Quavo & Harlow v Lil Baby & 2 Chainz. It’s going down.

Rappers are lacing up their kicks to step onto the court. NBA All-Star Weekend in Atlanta is only a couple of days away as the festivities announcements begin to unfold.

One of those events is Bleacher Report’s Open Run, presented by Modelo Beer.

Fans will witness a 2-on-2 pickup game between Lil Baby & 2 Chainz and Quavo and Jack Harlow. Many rappers have expressed their hoop dreams and desires in the past, but Quavo and 2 Chainz are two that walk it as they talk it. Honcho took home the All-Star Game Celebrity MVP back in 2018 and scoring 27 points the following year. On the other hand, 2 Chainz played Division 1 college ball at Alabama State during the 1996-97 season.

Lil Baby & Jack Harlow are teaming up to put their skills to the test. Harlow recently participated in The Crew League, while Lil Baby has some game of his own. The matchup should certainly be an entertaining one. Who do you have your money on to win the 2-on-2?
