Who We Are

In 1932, John Deere opened a sales and service location in Albany, Georgia to serve southwest Georgia's large farm population - small beginnings for a company that would one day grow into the multi-faceted Flint Equipment Company of today.

By 1968, John Deere had expanded into the heavy construction equipment market, and the dealership was sold to a small group of local investors. The heavy equipment division of the company was named Flint Equipment Company, and the agricultural division became Albany Tractor Company. In 1979, a new division was added - Flint Equipment Company Power Systems (formerly known as Engine Distributors) - to sell and service large industrial, agricultural, and marine engines. In 2002, the company which had prospered and grown from 15 employees in 1968 to over 280 employees was purchased by Mr. Thomas C. Cannon, a lifelong resident of Albany, Georgia.

Deere flint john

After getting off to a slow start in the opening round of the John Deere Classic, Flint’s Willie Mack III is going to need a better finish to make the 36-hole cut.

Mack, playing in his fourth career PGA Tour event, shot 1-under-par 70 Thursday to sit in a tie for 75th place entering Friday’s second round of the $1.08 million event.

Mack made double-bogey at the par-4 11th hole – his second of the day because he starting on the back nine – after three-putting from 21 feet.

He made the turn at 1–over par after making two birdies and one bogey on the final seven holes on the front side before a birdie on the 10th hole – his second straight birdie – put him back to even par.

Mack birdied his final hole, making a 10-foot birdie putt on No. 9 to get into red numbers.

For the day, Mack averaged 317.5 yards on tee shots and hit 72.2 percent of greens in regulation.

Mack is playing in his second straight Tour event after finishing 4-under-par 284 in last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. That marked the first time he made the cut in the Tour event and he took home $15,075.

Before playing in the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Mack played in the Farmers Insurance Open and Genesis Invitational, missing the cut in both. Those were his first two PGA Tour events.
