Jeff Lubell and Kym Gold founded True Religion in Vernon, CA, in They had a vision for revolutionizing the way that jeans had long been designed and constructed, and they set out to make their concept a reality. At first, the duo had trouble getting investors on board with their jean designs, so they took a risk and created thousands of prototype pairs using their own money. They gave away pairs of the jeans--which had lower pockets and intricate colored stitching--to salespeople at fashion hotspots in L.A., and they soon found that customers were clamoring to get their hands on the pants.

The unique manufacturing process for True Religion jeans required the company to create its own equipment, and it soon began to add even more unique embellishments to its designs. Before long, True Religion started opening its own branded boutiques across the country, in addition to selling jeans through high-end department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Today, products are available at almost 1, locations, and the brand has a presence in more than 50 countries across the globe. True Religion was briefly traded publicly, but it went private again when it was purchased by Tower Brook Capital Partners in

Babies & Kids Merchandise

True Religion continues to be a denim manufacturer first and foremost, and designer jeans are the brand's top sellers. It has also ventured into more general apparel, however, for kids and adults of all ages. In toddler sizes, you can find jeans, sweatpants, shorts, graphic tees, sweatshirts, and jackets. Apparel is then divided into categories for Little Kids (ages ) and Kids (ages ). Many of the children's clothing options are almost identical across all the different age groups, with sizing being the only thing that changes.

Women's Merchandise

In women's sizes, jeans are available in different styles that are named after the celebrity that inspired them (with examples including The Halle, The Casey, and The Joan Smalls). Among these jeans, you can find different popular fashions like bootcut, flare, skinny, super skinny, jegging, boyfriend, straight leg, and more. Denim options feature a range of different colors and washes. Other True Religion bottoms include leggings, cropped pants, corduroys, shorts, and skirts. In tops, you can find tees, tanks, button-down shirts, v-necks, graphic tees, pullovers, hoodies, and more. The brand has an activewear collection that includes workout pants, tracksuits, sweatpants, and sports bras. Jackets meld style with warmth and are available for varying levels of cold. True Religion's accessories include purses, hats, scarves, and more.

Our rating

True Religion is one of the few brands that have challenged the norm when it comes to jeans, and its products certainly stand out. Since the company's goal is to create designer jeans that are sported by celebrities and socialites, however, its products aren't cheap. Most kids' jeans are priced at around $, while adult jeans tend to top $ Luckily, such high sticker prices make the brand a prime candidate for purchasing secondhand. You might find a great deal on these clothes that are made in the United States and held to a very high manufacturing standard. We give True Religion 4 stars out of 5.
