Miss Kitty's Cat House

Our Mission

Please call Miss Kitty's to make an appointment to spend time with the specific cat/s you would like to see. (928.445-5411) OR email us on this website.

Rest assured that our hard working and dedicated volunteers are taking good care of all of the cats. Miss Kitty's Cat House is an all-volunteer, (except for the treasurer) non-profit 501(c)(3) feline rescue organization. Our mission is to rescue kittens and cats and find them loving, forever homes.

Who We Are
Miss Kitty's is located in a small house at 302 N Alarcon Street in Prescott, Arizona, where approximately 20 adult cats live and play until they are adopted. The cats roam free in the house and are cared for by a variety of dedicated volunteers who come in daily. When you visit Miss Kitty's, you will meet all of our cats on neutral ground, in an environment where they feel safe. You will be able to better observe their personalities and traits to find a perfect fit for you and your household.

We are usually in need of foster homes for adult cats and kittens. We also are in need of volunteers to do cleaning duties at the house, do adoptions at PetSmart or the house, or participate in our fundraisers throughout the year. For more information, please call 928-445-5411 and leave a voice mail if no one answers. NO text messages. If you would like to make a donation, please click on our PayPal link or bring in or mail a check to Miss Kitty's Cat House, 302 N Alarcon Street, Prescott, Arizona 86301.

Adopting a Friend
The cats and kittens in our program have all been spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and checked for good health (feline leukemia and FIV). Due to COVID restrictions, we are adopting to Yavapai County residents only. Come Visit Us! We are open by appointment only.

IF WE HAVE ADOPTABLE KITTENS---Come meet our KITTENS at PetSmart (by Costco) every Saturday from 10AM to 2PM and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM. You might get to meet their foster families, too, as most have been raised with lots of loving human (and sometimes other pet) contact.

Method of Payment
Cash or personal check. Some volunteers may have the use of the cell phone Square Credit Card Reader; please ask the adoption crew about this option.

Transport Services
Miss Kitty's does not offer transport services.

Surrendering a Cat
Due to Miss Kitty’s small shelter size and limited resources, we can only accommodate cats from our local cities in Yavapai County. Miss Kitty's is an adoption center rather than a sanctuary (forever retirement home.)

Make a Donation
Miss Kitty's relies on our friends to continue in our mission. Please consider making a contribution. We have a PayPal account to make donating simple and secure. Click the link at the upper right above the house picture to go to the DONATION PAGE.

Check out our Facebook page too.

Miss Kitty's Cat House's Adoption Process

The cats and kittens in our program have all been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and checked for good health (feline leukemia and FIV). The adoption fee is $85 for kittens, cats 1-5 yrs is $75, and cats over 5 yrs $65 (a small price for the endless companionship of a feline friend!) We have a senior citizen discount program as well as discounts for special cats in our care.
Miss Kitty's has begun a very special program called the MISS KITTY'S LONELY HEARTS KLUB. This is a program for cats that for whatever reason have been overlooked for adoption. They may be shy at first meeting, or just because they are adults when new owners are searching for kittens. Sometimes they have unique personality traits (imagine THAT in a cat!) that require a special someone to accept them for who they are. If you are that special someone. please take a look at our Lonely Hearts Klub members for consideration- they may be the LOVE of your life!! Cats with the MK Lonely Hearts Klub designation may be available for a reduced adoption fee for that "special someone".
Adopters must sign an adoption agreement regarding the care and treatment of their new feline family member.

About Miss Kitty's Cat House

Miss Kitty's Cat House is a small non-profit, no-kill cat rescue and adoption facility, solely operated by volunteers and donations. Miss Kitty's is located in a tiny Victorian house at 302 N. Alarcon Street in Prescott, Arizona, where approximately 15 to 20 adult cats live and play until they are adopted. The cats roam free in the house and are cared for by a variety of dedicated volunteers. Since the number of "residents" is governed by the City of Prescott, we often have a waiting list for cats to come in when there are vacancies.
We also have other adult cats and kittens in foster homes in the Prescott area. The number varies depending upon how many kittens have been sent to us and how many fosters are available.
We shelter cats of all ages and backgrounds. We have cats whose humans have either passed away or are otherwise unable to care for them, rescued cats who were born feral and who have been socialized, motherless kittens or formerly abandoned or abused pets.

Come Meet Miss Kitty's Cat House's Pets

We have open house for adoptions on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the cat's house at 302 N. Alarcon Street, on the NW corner of Alarcon and Sheldon Streets in Prescott, AZ. The rest of the week we are open by appointment only: call us at 928-445-5411 to schedule an appointment. If no one is available to take your call, leave us a message and one of our volunteers will get back to you.
Please come to our cat house and visit with our friends. This is a great place to meet and greet the cats on neutral ground, play as long as you like, and get to know your future family member.
Miss Kitty's Cat House also has cats and kittens available for adoption at PetSmart in Prescott (Next to Costco) on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We also partner with PetSmart in Adopt-A-Thons several times a year.

Support Adoption and Rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why Should You Adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
