Police Department

The police department has a House Watch program to be utilized when you leave home either overnight or for an extended period during which your home will be vacant. An officer on each shift will drive by your house looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Requesting House Watch
You may contact the police dispatcher prior to departure by phone at or emailprior to your departure with the following information:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Dates leaving and returning
  • Any key holder information or if anyone will be in and out of the house (i.e. housekeeper, pool service, lawn crew, pet sitter, etc.)
  • Any lights and/or timers left on
  • Any cars remaining in the driveway and their colors and makes (i.e., Green Tahoe)
  • Emergency contact numbers and/or cell phone numbers
Upon your return, you simply need to notify the dispatcher to stop the watch.

This information is kept in a confidential computer database and is made available to all Spring Valley Village patrol officers.
